This type of Garmin product is very nice if you need to do allot of running and traveling together and is very handy when your not sure where you are at.

The 305 has an auto lap feature too. Vie heard that the buttons on the 405 are awkward, so many (including myself) prefer the 305.

A great investment indeed if you are a runner, but if you can and want to spend the extra bucks, I would suggest the 405 over the 305. The auto lap feature is great if you run on track or loops. Of course if you just want a heart rate monitor with the GPS then the 305 would suffice.

I’ve tested several Forerunners myself and you just can beat the 305 when it comes to bang for the buck.

Nice review - I was wondering whether the price of the Garmin 305 forerunner would be cheaper in USA than here in the UK and it seems pretty similar.
