While we all love our running watches, there would always be a time when we have to begin considering having to replace them. Yes, there may be sentimental value attached to it (a gift from a loved one, the first running watch you purchased, or even the first running watch that you trained and won with are the usual reasons) but they may not be able to perform and improve your capabilities anymore.

So when should you consider changing or upgrading your running watch? Well there are different situations but most of them would pertain to circumstances where the running watch would already not be capable of providing you with the accurate data that you need for your training.

Some of the circumstances wherein you should probably start thinking about changing your running watch would include:

Hardware breakdowns:

When there’s a hardware breakdown and your watch is no longer under warranty, you may want to begin searching for new or replacement running watches. This is because once your running watch hardware malfunctions, then the accuracy of the data that you gather would be suspect.

While you could probably get it fixed or repaired, you are not sure about the quality of the watch anymore. You may also expect that the price that you would have to shell out for would be quite high. You could just save this money and purchase a new running watch instead.

Of course, if your running watch is still under manufacturer’s warranty, then you could probably have it fixed or replaced without any worries. This is because they would know exactly which parts to fix and replace which could get your running watch back to peak performance and you would not have to spend too much for it.

New Sport or training routine:

You may also want to change your running watch if you are considering a new sport and your watch is not capable of handling the new data that you would need to track. Right now, the running watches nowadays have been more adept at tracking all kinds of running and training data. Sticking to your old running watch may be detrimental to your training.

If you feel that you need to change your running watch,  you should just consider what you liked best about your old one, and then search for new running watches that are able to serve these needs and even improve on them.

Fortunately, there are dozens of reviews in our website which would allow you to properly select which one of them would be the best replacement for the one that you are currently using.
