As described, lightweight, easy to use (with directions) – I’ve had it for about 6 weeks and it hasn’t fallen apart at all as some others have stated.

This is my third Iron Man watch. My first two were black, so the grey/silver model is a nice change. The black version typically lasted me a couple of years before the plastic pieces of the face started to break off and the LCD display blinked out. The price is so good, that it’s worth it, though. Great everyday watch for work, where I wash my hands continually.

Great watch for anything–even wear it for a casual day, not just my sports. Only drawback, if I have to have one, is the band. It is a longer band and I have smaller wrist. The band has a locking set up to control the extra band material. This hinge is sometimes annoying to unhinge. It’s so minor, wouldn’t make this an issue with buying another watch of same make!

4 Stars Had one before. Still Like it!
Just like my previous watch (besides color change). Good, reliable, easy to use. The band probably won’t last more than 2 years, but I still think it’s worth it. A warranty is available, but it applies to the watch itself (not the band).

5 Stars Great Watch!
I love the watch. I’ve been wearing it for about three weeks now and the only complaint I have is that some of the print on the wrist part of the watch has worn off (this is where it says “50 Feet etc” I don’t know what else it says since I can’t read it). It’s not an integral part of the watch at all, so really no loss to me. The watch is perfect for my needs. Fast as heck delivery time.

3 Stars Not as good as my old Casio
I’m not positive mine is the exact same model as this because mine is all black, but it is a Timex unisex 30-lap Flix Ironman and my comments should apply to all in this series. Although I’m a six-foot-tall man, I have thin wrists and can’t wear a man’s watch. Even this one is larger than I’d like. One of our wedding presents was his/hers gardening gloves. I wear the hers, my wife wears the his, but I digress. Sorry to say, Amazon, but you really shouldn’t buy a watch online; you need to try them on to see if they will fit your wrist.

I wanted it as my everyday watch to show time and date and as a stopwatch for running. It serves the first purpose well, with nice big numerals, which my middle aged eyes need. I’m happy with that part. I am disappointed in it as a stopwatch, though, and as an alarm clock/timer. The biggest difference between the Casios and the Timexes to me as a runner is that the Timex watches have the start/split button in front and stop on the side, while the Casio has the front button be stop/start. On both the front button is large and easy to push (or used to be on my old Casio, although I’ve heard that’s not so true for the newer ones). But I find it almost impossible to push the stop button on this Timex. At first when I began using this for timing my runs I would fail to stop the watch at the end more often than I succeeded, thus losing the timing data. You can’t use the split button for that because 10 seconds after you press it it reverts to the continuously running mode, so you have to memorize the split time or write it down. I want to stop the time and write down the time after I get home (driving from where I run at the park).

It is so hard to stop it that I found I was twisting the bejeebers out of the band when I pressed hard enough, so I started pressing equally hard from the opposite direction (the upper left) in a pinching motion to counteract the thumb at the stop button (lower right), but that didn’t work because the Set/Recall button (upper left) would always register the push first, changing it out of stopwatch mode to time set mode and thus the stop button didn’t work as a stop but instead changed the time. Eventually I learned to prepare to stop it about 10 seconds before the end of the run by finding the tiny sweet spot between the mode button and the 12:00 position with one finger and placing my thumb on the stop button, then squeezing really hard when I reach the end. Even doing this sometimes it doesn’t stop. This is not just my particular watch with this problem, either, because I tested several in the store when I bought an identical (except purple) one for my daughter (who specifically asked for an Ironman). They all had the really hard-to-press stop buttons. For what it’s worth, she loves hers, but she’s a triathlete and uses the lap features a lot, which I don’t.

For the alarm functions, I found them really hard to use mainly due to the Occasion mode always jumping in. If you don’t use it regularly, you can think you’re setting the alarm to wake you the next morning and instead it turns out you set it to ring when it’s somebody’s birthday or some other occasion. I find it much easier (and much louder) to use my cell phone as an alarm clock when traveling.

5 Stars Great watch for the price
This watch looks great and feels really comfortable on my wrist. I bought it for a simple watch to wear when I working around the house and exercising. For the price, it is great.

I love that the simplicity of its use as well as the stopwatch and 3 alarms.

The only downside, in my opinion, is that the strap is thinner than I thought. I took some getting used to but I think it actually makes it more comfortable.

The watch is everything I want and more. It’s simple and durable while not looking too bad either. I’d definitely buy it again in a second!

I’ve used a Timex Ironman watch for the last 15+ years. When I couldn’t find the model that I had been using, I ordered this one because it had the features I wanted–big numbers, chronograph and timer, different time zones, multiple alarms and convenient buttons. BUT when it came, it was smaller than what I expected a “midsize” watch would be, and my first thought was ‘Well, let’s send it back”. Then I started playing with it and discovered now easy it is to set, to use and how comfortable it is to wear! It’s perfect for this little old gray-haired lady!!

Watch came in the original packaging, it works perfectly, and got to me quickly. I use it for running outside and it’s not heavy, fits perfectly on a woman, and doesn’t feel bulky. Good buy

3 Stars Easy to read!
This is the easiest to read watch that I have ever owned! The time and date are very large and bold, great for those of us with less than perfect eyesight

The time was a little off, it gained about 5 minutes in 6 month’s time. Also, the band is plastic, so no surprise when it broke after 18 months, the problem is that there is no way to replace the band.

I really liked the style, and with the easy to read face, I am considering purchasing another one in spite of the short comings.

2 Stars Good watch, TERRIBLE strap.
I had this watch for about four months before both the top and bottom straps started separating from the face. I could still wear it, so I did, until another problem arose: the strap got a big crack in it and eventually broke. All because of normal wear; I’m not that abusive. I thought perhaps it was just that one watch until I sent it in to nike, which returned me a brand new watch for $12, on which the straps began separating from the face AGAIN. One day the strap finally separated completely from the face, so I can’t wear it anymore. Now I can tell the problem is that the rod connecting the strap to the face is held in on the ends by cheap plastic that breaks easily, allowing the rod to bend and eventually snap. I loved this watch (both of them actually), but I’m moving on to a watch with a strap that wraps around the face.

4 Stars NIke Imara HRM – Love It!!
I run, bike & swim in my Nike Imara HRM & love it! It’s accurate & easy to use. The CD that came with it was educational & helpful. I’ve had no issues with it picking up other monitors (some other reviewers said it did) even when we’re close together.

I wish it did 2 things: 1 – provided max hr during workout (real bummer!). 2 – downloaded to my computer (I’m a data geek). But, for the price $79.00, I’m not complaining!

Now, if I could only find a sports bra as wonderful!

4 Stars Nike Heart Monitor and Watch
This is my first heart rate monitor and it does exactly what I expected it to do. The actual monitor is a band that fits right under your bra and is made out of rubber like material and attaches with an adjustable webbed fabric with key lock type fitting. I read in another review that someone broke this fitting when taking it off–that would take some determination as it isn’t a flimsy fitting. The watch is masculine but it has a large enough face that it is easy to read even without your glasses. The watch controls are simple and easy to master once it is all set up. To set it up-YES you have to read the directions but they were well written. I chose the Nike heart rate monitor because it is about half the price of some other well know monitors and it works well. I gave it four stars simply because I’m not thrilled about how it looks. I use mine mostly for bicycling and spinning to make my workout more efficient.

I have used my Nike Triax C5 heart rate monitor a couple of times. Easy to set up. The numbers on the watch are easier to read than my old one. The strap is comfortable and stays in place. The only negative for me is the instructions for setting the heart rate doesn’t work for me (but the instructions said it may not work for everyone). I just plan to reset with other instructions. Glad I bought it!

Everything works great. Only slight problem I found is that heart rate monitor isn’t accurate if the chest band is not moist enough in beginning of workout. I just wipe the band with water in beginning to fix that problem.

The watch and chest belt are great, both are comfortable and work as advertised. This set up has everything you need.

One nice to have feature would be to have your heart rate display in ‘Watch’ mode, so you can see the time as well as your heart rate. It shows your heart rate when in stop watch mode, but not when the clock is showing. No big deal, but something that would be helpful.

1 Star nothing more than a simple watch
The watch was awesome until a month into ownership and the temp/alt/baro function stopped working and the girlfriend threw away the reciept. although i just ordered a casio pathfinder. the weather icon is nice but knowing how to read a barometer is a lot more simpler. Cheap price, cheap watch

2 Stars An awful watch for the money.
I bought this watch on the recommendation of a friend. It has just about all the readings that one would need as a novice hiker, mountain biker, camper, etc. Very impressive, and even your grandparents can read the face from across the room. It takes some time to learn all the buttons, as they are different from the Iron Mans I’ve worn over the last decade. The problem that I’ve had with it so far, is that most of the readings began failing within four days of receipt, so I had to go to the highgear website to figure out how to get it to them for repair (on a brand new watch!!!) or replacement. Their emails were immediate with the information to send it in, but finding the status of the watch was difficult. I finally received the watch after about 3 weeks, and it appears to work correctly. UPDATE: after a year, the watch was easily damaged in the OFFICE environment, rarely held its altimeter readings (barometric based), the bezzol-ring moves freely (which won’t help you if you really need to land navigate) and now the battery has died, almost nobody will change it since I did not buy it at a local store, and those who will change the battery, can’t get the cover off to do it. I’d either dave your money and buy something much cheaper, or splurge for something that has a lot more quality associated with it.

1 Star Scary choice for serious backcountry use…
I’m on my second Terra Summit; the first was replaced by the vendor (not Amazon) after its crystal got heavily scratched and fogged and the bearing markers for compass wore off on a single 4 day backpacking trip. This time I took it in the woods, got turned around, and soon was seriously lost because… the compass doesn’t work! No matter where I pointed it, it was “SSW”. This isn’t a mistake I can afford to make and next trip this watch is staying home.

3 Stars Highgears Summit watch
For the first three months it was pretty nice. The watch band eneded up breaking away from the base unit. It was too late to return it for a refund. Amazon only has a poor 30 day policy for refunds. I tried to have the watch band fixed at a local watch specialist shop. No one in my area could do it. The actual connections to the watch housing broke. I tried several shops and 4 months later it still sat on my dresser. Actually it’s been a year now the watch is still running well, but telling time/temp/alt/bara from a drawer now instead of my wrist. I am sending it soon back to Highgear to either fix the watch band or replace it. Their rep has informed me that there is a 2 year warantee on the Summit. I wish Amazon would have told me that when I purchase it.

1 Star “Watch” out – low quality makes it disposable
I enjoyed using this product — until it came time to change the battery. Then I discovered how low quality the materials are in the construction of the watch. It is essentially impossible to change the battery: the soft plastic holding the battery deforms, so it is extremely difficult to open the compartment. The watch repair store wouldn’t even try. In desperation, I carved out the plastic well enough to get two-screwdriver leverage to open the battery case, to replace the CR2032 battery. But even worse, then the poor construction prevented the closing of the battery case. So beware: you need to treat this watch as disposable, once the battery wears out!
