3 Stars Bargain Watch – Not Unisex
This Timex watch is a real bargain, but it does have a very large works, which is about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Clearly, this is too large for a smaller wrist, and accordingly not truly unisex.

The watch itself was easy to set up and has a large readable display. However, the function buttons are labeled in red against a gray background and are difficult to read. The start/stop, indiglo, mode, and set buttons are in the same locations on the dial as my previous Timex Ironman watch, so the functions were familiar to me.

Bottom line – If you have a large wrist, prefer a large display, and are short on cash, I recommend this watch. Otherwise, get the Timex Ironman.

1 Star Poor Choice
This watch is too bulky and big to wear. The price makes it look tempting but it swallowed my wrist. The size is more like a guy’s wrist watch. Would never buy again. It’s huge!!

1 Star Why would anyone buy based on those pictures?
If you click to look at the pictures, they’re all complaining about it, and the cracked band, etc… ? why would anyone buy this with all of those horrible pictures there that show how awful it is?

3 Stars stylish with great functionality but not durable.
I’ve gone through two of these watches in 3 years (the fact that I bought the same one shows how much I do like them). But I think it is time to move on. I wore this watch 24/7. With the first watch, the silver paint wore off almost as soon as I took it swimming in saltwater. But I didn’t give up on it until the strap broke about a year later. I went back to Target and this was still the watch I liked most. I use it as an alarm clock when I travel, and even as a timer on occasion. So I bought another one, thinking that maybe Timex had fixed the issue with the peeling paint. But a year and a half later I’m in the same situation: the paint has partly worn off in saltwater and the strap broke.

This watch is small enough to be comfortable on my wrist. It has the functions I need and more.

5 Stars Ironman win’s the race!
I am very pleased with this watch. It is easy to use and the digits are easy to read, even whe running. Great features like the chrono and timer. I haven’t used the alarm yet, and may never use it but it is nice to have. I love the color too!

This is a great running watch. It takes a little while to set everything but once you get the hang of it, it is fantastic. It is really light weight. I actually forget I am wearing it.

2 Stars From new to green in less than 3 weeks!
While the watch functions fine, and has all the features plus more that I’ve always had (I’ve worn a Timex Ironman woman’s watch for about 10 years now)…this band turned GREEN (it was light & navy blue) within a few weeks and has only gotten worse. It’s definitely not worth $40.

4 Stars Simple, good looking, inexpensive, casual watch
The title kinda says it. The watch looks like its picture, fits well on my wife’s slender wrist, and tells the time clearly.

2 Stars Look for a better cheap watch
I liked the watch as a cheap, practical sports watch with a decent alarm function. Setting the alarm wasn’t intuitive, and it was easy to accidentally activate the stopwatch, etc. But I would have lived with that for the price, because all I *really* wanted was a watch and a daily alarm reminder.

But the strap broke suddenly (with no trauma–just fell off one day) after only a couple of months of light wear. Or more accurately, the plastic notch that holds the strap on broke, which means you can’t fix it. And of course I didn’t bother to keep the packaging for a $15 watch.

I’m not being a price snob–I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than $30 on a watch, but I do expect them to hang in there for at least a year. So I’m back to my old (alarmless, alas) metal watch from Target that I’ve had for 5 years. No more plastic for me.

5 Stars Comfy watch
I bought this watch a few years after giving away my Timex Ironman (to someone who needed it more than I did), trying to find one I liked as well, and I have to say this one fits the bill. It’s very comfortably sized, the band doesn’t pinch, and best of all, it’s proven itself to be very watertight, and has suffered no damage from being worn while bathing two small children.

5 Stars don’t spend a nickle
I purchased this inexpensive watch for a trip to Hawaii and a lot of snorkeling. A total waste of money. Went on the fritz the first day of being in and out of the water. Ended up in the garbage can at our rental.

3 Stars ok, but should’ve gotten an Ironman
For some reason, I assumed the sports watch would have a countdown timer, but it doesn’t. I’m not a huge fan of the timer/alarm controls, so only use this watch to keep basic time. My ironman was great – I’ll probably get one of those soon.

Cons:

1.Annoying Beep to switch functions (Timex, why cant we have option to turn off?)

2.Day is too small (Timex should have made only current day show, not all seven and highlight current day, small to read)

Great watch for the Price

Update:

I have moved this watch to be a shower watch. Is stationed on the rack. Unconfortable, on the wrist.

I purchased a more expensive Timex Flix Ironman, mainly because I could not read the day. The comfort of the new watch is wonderful, spend the extra money if you can.

5 Stars Good cheap watch
Bought this watch for running. I don’t need a fancy GPS or Heart Monitor watch, but something with an alarm and stopwatch. So far this has worked great. Durable (got it wet a few times) and comfortable for running. Exactly what I needed and the price was really good. I recommend it.

Its a great watch for the price, it fits well and is pretty small on your wrist, the buttons dont always go the first time you press them but its not really a big deal. overall i would recomend the watch for a simple work out watch and it can be used as a casual watch as well. cant lose for the price!

I bought this watch strictly for the countdown timer, which I believe are increasingly hard to find. The watch is very inexpensive, but it is well worth the money. It is easy to operate and the dial light is just right. It is tough and also very suitable for swimming and snorkeling.

4 Stars Great Buy!
This is the 3rd Ironman Triathlon watch I have owned. I like the sleek new design and the features are all excellent. The only problem I have had with this product is the band pulls away from the watch in various places.

4 Stars Most comfortable watch I’ve owned…
This is one of 8 watches I own, and the most recently one purchased. The others are dress or stainless steel, so this is actually the first athletic watch for me. The soft silicon-like/rubber band is so pliable it’s like not wearing it at all. It’s also very low profile. My teen daughter wore it once to a water park and now she wants one as well; she loved the comfort; it’s really like not wearing one at all. It did fog a bit when I went swimming, but cleared within 1-2 days; it is not labeled as waterproof, so it truly is water resistant as stated. This is loaded with features for the price and is surprisingly low profile/small. It is also trendy looking. Nike’s watches are harder rubber, and many fewer features for more money. This is a great value. Also, they have many nice color options. This pink style is pretty neutral for me. I now wear it more than my nice stainless ones. This is not just for the gym.

The reason for 4/5 stars is that on one occasion the entire metal circular portion “popped out” of the flexible band part. In that regard I wish they made it better integrated so it would not have happened. That being said, I was able to return it to normal.

4 Stars great watch
Size/scale & functionality are great.I’m a runner who chooses her shoes based on comfort & function, never color or style. I was surprised by the pink/lavender presence of this watch, though–straps looked kind of grey in the photo, but it is most definitely lavender. Still, I need the watch and am delighted with every other aspect of it, so I’ll put up with a Barbie look for a while here!

4 Stars Lightweight Sports Watch
I bought this mostly for running outside so that I can time myself. However, I find myself wearing it even when I’m not working out. It’s very comfortable and light weight.

3 Stars Busy Mom
I bought this watch in May as a replacement to the older model that i’d owned for only 3 months. After 3 months, the band on the first model broke off the face. I am now experiencing the same problem. I thought that with the additional plastic support that wrapped around the face that it would alleviate the problem i had with the first model. Not so. I’m going to return this watch to the local running shop where I purchased it. I’m frustrated with Timex. I had bought two cheaper versions and they also petered out within a year. I would love to find a practical digital watch that does not look to ugly, that can change time zones (I travel a lot), that i can dip into the kids bathtub, wear in the shower, jump into the pool and ocean with and wear to bed so I can see the time when I get woken in the middle of the night by a crying child.

3 Stars Nice watch. Timer is it’s weakness.
As the title indicates. A watch timer, especially one labeled as a Sports watch, should not have to be set every time it’s used. No complaints on anything else and it is very presentable.

2 Stars poor band quality
the watch was fine, no problems, but the bracket that holds the band broke so it couldn’t be fixed

3 Stars Decent, but has some big drawbacks
The watch is fine, except for one major problem – the buttons stick out so much that they are always getting pressed accidentally when I put on/take off my bookbag or if my wrist comes into contact with a hard surface! Which means that for every 3 out of 4 times I look at the watch, it is displaying the wrong mode – i.e. the stopwatch, or – even worse – the alarm mode (which confuses me because it looks just like the normal mode). So I need to think for a few seconds whether the numbers I’m looking at make sense, often to realize that I need to press the “mode” button a few times to cycle through until I get back to the normal clock mode. Really annoying.

Also, the first one I bought must’ve been a lemon, because within a week, one button had fallen off and the second counter had become unreadable! I returned it and got a new one, which has no problems, except for what I mentioned above.

4 Stars Good basic watch for men
I don’t like to spend a lot on watches, since my husband goes through so many. This has all the basic functions he needs & is sturdy & neat-looking. As far as I could tell, comparable items in stores were more expensive, so I bought on Amazon, which provided a better value.

1 Star Not water-resistant at 30 feet, much less 50 meters!
Picked up this watch at the last minute before a sailing/ snorkeling/ scuba trip since my usual Timex Ironman had just died, and the price for the 1440 was only 1/2 to 1/3 that of the Ironman I usually buy. While this watch was only rated water-resistant to 50 meters/ 165 feet (unlike the 100+ meters for the Ironman) I didn’t expect it to be an issue since as a recreational diver I never dive that deep.

However, I got what I paid for – the 1440 couldn’t even handle a half hour in shallow (< 30 foot) water on my first dive – and what’s even worse, it was a dive that ended up being more snorkeling than diving; by the time I was back on the boat the face was so badly fogged that it was impossible to read the watch, and it hasn’t cleared to any significant degree in the days since.

The watch is getting returned.
